Our Services

Dr. Elliot uses many complementary modalities to treat the diverse array of problems that animals have that come to her for evaluation and services. She also uses conventional medicine when indicated. She will evaluate each case on it’s own and the discuss all the possible treatment options with owners so they can make the best choice for their pets.
She utilizes Veterinary Orthopedic Manipulation (VOM) for many animals with muscular skeletal problems and other chronic diseases such as constipation, bladder issues, etc. She also highly recommends VOM for you her younger and healthy animals as regular regimes for preventive medicine in healthy animals. Please refer to the individual section on VOM for an expanded explanation and examples of successful cases treated with VOM.
She uses Low Level (cold) Laser (LLLT) to treat many muscular skeletal problems as well as many acute and chronic diseases (diabetes, asthma, allergies, endocrine disorders, etc.) and many behavioral problems such as canine geriatric syndrome, fears and anxiety, and much more. Please refer to the individual section on LLLT for expanded explanation and examples of successful cases treated with LLLT.
She uses homeopathic remedies to treat many acute and chronic conditions before reaching for conventional medicines. A definitive diagnosis is not always needed to use homeopathic treatment. Therefore a full diagnostic assessment of every patient is not always required, although the more information, the better. Homeopathic remedies are very useful to support different organs of the body when under attack of a disease (kidney, liver, heart, lungs, etc.). She also uses homeopathic treatment for animals with cancer. She has found that using homeopathy, even without chemotherapy and/or radiation, can provide the animal with energy, stimulate appetite and have the animal live with cancer longer than the expected prognosis and, in some cases, put the cancer into remission for many months to years, without any negative side effects.
Dr. Elliot specializes in using natural treatments for patients with cancer. These include homeopathic treatment as well as a new natural product called Neoplasene. Dr. Elliot was highlighted in the NY Post ( "Natural Healing" May 13, 2007) for her miraculous work with this product, also highlighted on channel 11 news 9/18/07. Many animals have been cured of cancer using Neoplasene without having to undergo surgery, chemotherapy or radiation.
Neoplasene -- a natural cancer killing substance derived from the Blood Root plant. However this treatment is not for everyone. This medicine can be given orally and/or injected into a tumor or topically applied onto the tumor (if accessible). The pros and cons of using this treatment are thoroughly discussed with clients before proceeding.
Dr. Elliot also successfully treats a variety of behavioral issues (fears, phobias, fear of thunderstorms, house soiling, incontinence, aggression, etc.), as well as pets with acute problems (trauma, swallowed a foreign body, vaccine reaction, hives, constipation, cystitis, etc.). Homeopathy and Low Level (cold) Laser can both be used to successfully address these issues.
Dr. Elliot believes in doing the least amount of vaccination possible for each animal. By taking into account the animal’s age, life-style and level of health, she can evaluate what vaccines are needed. She usually recommends doing “titers” (a blood test that measures the animal’s antibody level) to evaluate the need for vaccines. If the titers are adequate it means the animal has full protection and does not need that vaccination that year.
She recently appeared on CBS news discussing heartworm medications and their effectiveness. http://newyork.cbslocal.com/2011/06/13/pets-and-heartworm-medication/
